Al Barker (1941-

Contemporary New Jersey artist, Al Barker was born in Patterson June 19, 1941. He received a BS in 1964 from West Virginia Univ, an MS from the University or Rhode Island (1967) and attended Rutgers University in 1969-70. His area of study was primarily forestry. As an artist he was self taught.
His art reflects his many interests from hunting and fishing to wildlife, landscapes and shore scenes. Though many of his works are miniatures, he paints in a variety of sizes. His works continue to win numerous awards. His memberships include the Miniature artists of America, Whisky Painters of /America , Miniature Art Society(s) of New Jersey, Florida, and Washington, DC.
His works can be found exhibited in most miniature art exhibits in the US and numerous galleries.
