Esther Hepler Inglesby (1909-2000)

Artist and illustrator, Esther Hepler Inglesby was born in 1909 in New Jersey. She attended the Philadelphia Museum  School of Industrial Arts (now University of the Arts) graduating in 1931.

She became a supervisor for the WPA in Camden NJ and oversaw a number of programs among them, arts and crafts for children at Camden parks , murals for Camden schools and work on the Index of American Design.

 

Her 1935 painting titled “ The Building of the Speed Line” was purchased  by the county in 1975 and remains in the collection of the Camden County Art Bank.
